RETHINKING EDUCATION

TDA + Homeschool Resource Centre offers an alternative education with high academic standards built on project-based and hands-on learning in order to engage the student and to exhibit the practical nature of their education as well as support the visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic learners. A full STEAM curriculum is offered to include: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. It is a multi-pronged approach to accommodating an education that fosters success for the students, choice and empowerment for the family and upholding the rights of parents and students alike.
Our teachers have specialized training in a variety of methods such as Orton-Gillingham for reading; Davis® Method for Dyslexia; PEERS® Social Skills Group; Body Brain Learning, and the Acton Academy. The teachers and learning support value each student’s unique learning style understanding how the complexities presenting go beyond simply neurodivergent or neurotypical, and that is why extensive consideration is given with parents to select custom curriculum for each student — not just those with an official IEP (Independent Education Plan). The teachers at TDA believe that every child can learn in their own way, naturally and holistically, and will support parents who wish to provide their child with an education without medication.
Students are not held back by the classroom’s status quo and are supported to surpass anticipated timelines of learning.
TDA + Homeschool Resource Centre supports those whose kids are registered homeschoolers, it is a place where students can obtain grade appropriate coursework, and those with their own curriculum can participate in social activities, field trips, sports, or particular classes and project. It is a curriculum exchange and textbook exchange site with a library of reference books, classic literature, novels, and readers as well. Teachers, tutors, and special education providers are available on an as needed basis.
